Introduction to Solano College
Located between San Francisco and Sacramento, classes are held at Solano College’s Vacaville Center Biomanufacturing building with state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment. Graduates have ample local employment opportunities including biotech pioneer Genentech, emerging company Biomarin, and with pharmaceutical manufacturer Janssen (Johnson and Johnson).
SCC’s Biomanufacturing program builds upon the Associate in Science in Industrial Biotechnology. In the baccalaureate program students gain knowledge in biology, chemistry, engineering, statistics, quality, regulatory affairs, and business.

Students use state-of-the-art biomanufacturing laboratory facilities in the Vacaville Center Biomanufacturing building to gain process and development skills. Solano College’s program emphasizes practical, hands-on training that prepares students for the workplace. The teaching laboratories emulate the work environment. Students work in teams, follow standard operating procedures that simulates the environment demanded by the FDA in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
